Who can see my plans on Howbout?

When creating or editing a plan, you’ll see a section called ‘Shared with friends,’ where you can choose between Friends, Best Friends, or No one.

You can also adjust this setting later by scrolling to the bottom of the event and tapping ‘Share with…’

What each setting means:

  • Friends: All of your Howbout friends can see the plan details. If they have mutual friends in the plan, they’ll see that too.
  • Best Friends: Only the friends you’ve added to your Best Friends list can see the plan details.
  • No one: The event is private to just you and the people invited. No one else will see it.

What others can and can't see:

  • Friends in the plan can see everything: time, title, photo, location, attendees, and the event chat.
  • Friends not in the plan, but who can see the event, will only see the time, title, and photo - nothing else.
  • If a friend isn’t included and you haven’t shared the plan with them, they’ll simply see that you’re ‘Busy’ at that time.

Want to hide it completely? Just mark yourself as ‘Free’ and it won’t show up at all.
